RAILWAY TERRACE

COMPLETED 2023

Located in Scarborough, this unique site hosts views through a line of mature Eucalypts to the raw rock faces of the escarpment above. Shading from this backdrop created a different microclimate, allowing for us to be more playful with our planting scheme. Our brief was to stimulate connection between the vastness of the escarpment and the garden itself.
To encourage and diversify daily interaction within the garden, we utilised an array of flowering natives which double as cut flower arrangements for the home, and created edible planter beds rich with aromatics and leafy greens.
Natural textures and colours of surrounding bushland are embraced in the details of this garden design.
Organic shapes are mirrored in the undulating garden beds, steel edging ageing to a red-dirt hue, and stacked stones that mimic a riverbed.
